Toronto Zoo opens giant panda exhibition

A four-year-old male and a five-year-old female giant panda can be seen for public at Toronto Zoo on May 18, 2013 morning. The giant pandas arrived in Canada in March from China, and will spend five years at the Toronto Zoo. After that they will be moved to the Calgary Zoo. They will become super stars at Toronto Zoo.

Giant panda is the most precious animals in China. There are less than 1000 giant pandas live all over the world. Most of them live in Si Chuan province. Because of low birth rate and environment pollution, giant pandas face extinction. This two pandas are very precious and have special meanings. They tied China and Canada together and bring in good relationship between two countries. Toronto Zoo prepared home for these guests. When this two pandas came to Canada, they became homesick. They changed their characters. They became shy and did not want to go outside. After a few days, they were familiar with the new environment, and then they became more active than first couple days. Male panda is more open and easy-going than the female one. He likes to play with zoo staffs. Zoo staffs hope that giant panda can produce panda babies at their zoo but the chance is very low. They stated " we have just got to be patient and keep our fingers crossed".

Giant panda is very cute and lovely animal. This time they came to Canada, I hope that Canadian people would like to enjoy the exhibition and this pair of panda can enjoy their lives in this beautiful country.
